What is Drum4fun?
Drum4fun is a new community drum circle venture run by Kate Cooper, a gigging musician, ukulele group facilitator and performer from Reading.
Kate graduated from the Village Music Circles drum circle facilitator course in October 2016 run by none other than world renowned trainer, and founder of the global drum movement Arthur Hull with his team of helpful elves.
Kate was working in a special school in Wokingham in early 2016 where she met Alex Miles of Kaya Rhythm & Arts who had come along to run drumming workshops with the children. She decided there and then that she wanted to run drum circles and interrogated Alex as to how she could get started. He suggested the 6 day intensive course in Scotland with Arthur and the rest, as they say, is (recent) history!
Her natural energy and enthusiasm along with a sensitivity to a group’s needs makes her an entertaining and fun drum circle facilitator whose main aim is that the people who attend her sessions come away feeling alive, re-energised and with a big smile on their face!
She is keen to develop her skills further and is planning on attending a drumming for health course in the Spring.
Holder of several DBS enhanced clearance checks and public liability insurance through the musicians union.
